A series of brick walls embedded with glass shards, presented in single, double, and multi-brick formats. These short structures, topped with jagged glass set in cement, echo the defensive architecture of Britain in the 1980s and 1990s—a reminder of the projection of danger onto the outside world and a useless gesture to protect against those who harm from within.
Originally created for the immersive installation Small Acts of Violence, these walls were interwoven with colorful ceramic vessels, placed around the bricks. Puddles of water and vinyl elements surrounded them. The fragmented path forced visitors to navigate unease and restriction, mirroring the tension between security and vulnerability, protection and harm.
