PLURAL AUTHORSHIP COLLECTIVE (P_A_C) is an artist duo based between Brussels and Edinburgh and was born on the internet October 8, 2015. They create multi-disciplinary work through performance, video and text. P_A_C takes an auto-ethnographic approach in their work methods. By using durational and immersive performance of characters in daily life they explore how the physicality of the action offers new insights and knowledge. Plural Authorship Collective is comprised of Aay LIPAROTO (1987, USA) & Zed MORALES (1986, NIC).
P_A_C understands performance as a continuous act, in which you are always performing yourself. The three-month long journey, along-side their performances in gallery spaces became part of a film/ documentary project that completed in 2019.
This performative journey, as a satirical starting point, reacting on the construction of selves through ideas of ancestry, gender, race, and notions of identity. Creating a mirror to each other’s image, to understand and live through the experience of what the influence of your mirror is on your performance of self, as well as how your social surroundings reinforce and structure your performance when addressed as a twin entity.
